The new, updated system is a little more expensive, but it uses our newest AFFF agent (4Fire Universal) we’ve been using in SFI systems for the last 2-3 years. This is what makes it more expensive, the cost of the agent compared to standard AFFF. The benefit of the new agent is we get fire out times on par with the Novec (gas agent) we use. Also, the 4Fire has been affective in lithium battery fire tests. Also, with the new system it uses 8mm tubing/fittings throughout, whereas the FIA18 system has 10mm out of the bottle for about 18” and then Y’s down to 8mm.
